“Setting a World Record” was a finalist in the 2021 Accenti “Capture an Italian Moment” Photo Contest.
Andria Sallese writes: “the photo was taken in Turin, Italy, on September 25, 2015. In the photo, 424 people are playing foosball simultaneously on a table 121 metres (398 ft) long, in an effort to set a Guinness World Record and to help raise funds for a children’s hospital in Somalia. The photo was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capture people of different ages, genders and backgrounds coming together in support of a common cause.”
Andria Sallese resides just north of Toronto, Canada. “Setting a World Record” is one of many photographs cataloguing her journey across the Italian landscape, along an old pilgrim route known as the Via Francigena. Professionally, she helps municipalities plan for great cities. In her spare time, she loves reading, writing historical fiction, travelling and taking the occasional photograph.
