CAPTURING AN ITALIAN MOMENT: Passeggiata

“‘Passeggiata’ was taken in the main piazza of Ravello on a warm December morning. The scene came upon me as I exited a café, having just fuelled up on an espresso and a chocolate cornetto. The many textures of the image appealed to me: the Via Roma sign, the wooden doors, the damaged wall, the stone walkway. The human element was also present in the old man walking towards a friend or neighbour who is only partially visible. Capturing the many diverse elements of this fleeting moment to produce this image was very satisfying for me.” – Robert T. Norton

“Passeggiata” won First Prize in the Accenti Magazine Photo Contest, and was displayed at the Accenti Magazine Awards during the Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival in April 2009.
